The need for a new and intelligent planning framework to deliver a low-carbon economy has been highlighted by the regular rejection of onshore wind-farm applications by councils. Onshore wind farms have a major role to play in delivering a greener future, but we need to find a way out of the constant battles.
A coalition of 60 organizations called the Friends of the Earth is busy in trying to find ways to proceed forward in the run-up to new guidance on climate and planning to be published by the government this autumn.
