Introduction To Geothermal Energy

Although we may find it very convenient and easy to use fossil fuels in order to carry out our daily business, but it is important to remember that these natural resources are depleting very fast and we must take appropriate steps in order to save these resources for our future generations.

geotherm

This is only possible if we start using other renewable sources of energy rather than the natural fossil fuels.

According to scientists, if we continue the energy usage at the ongoing rate, we could run out of oil in about 40 years, and out of natural gas soon after that.

We only have these fossil fuels because they have been forming deep inside the Earth for millions of years, and once we finish them up, it is going to take another million more years to rebuild them again.

What Factors Affect the Output of Wind Turbines?

What is the purest form of power generation? The unanimous answer is Wind Energy. As Wind Energy has numerous benefits like no pollution, no burning of fossils and a clean setup. Although, it should not be perceived that it’s a facile setup unit. Various factors combine to make an impact on the amount of energy you can generate out of wind.wind Turbines

Power in the Wind

It’s vital to understand the relation of wind speed data with power production. Therefore, the power is proportional to the wind speed cubed. It is important to know the wind speed precisely, because any error is magnified when calculating power.

Human’s curiosity leads towards invention, like utilizing energy from sun and generating electricity. This is a renewable form of energy and is an unlimited resource unlike other resources to generate electricity. This discovery further leads  to invention of appliances and instruments that uses sun rays to generate electricity and when applied  to a large scale  it results in creation of solar power plants.

What is a solar power plant?

A solar power plant captures the sun rays and convert photons into electricity. A solar semi-conductor possess electrons and the  sun ray contains photons. As a  photons  enter  this semi-conductor, these photons are captured and the electrons are transformed into electricity. This mechanism depends on the nature of material being used as semi-conductor.

Wind Turbine Goes Portable

Renewable energy that is the hottest of the focal point in current times cannot be used up and it does not generate pollution. Sustainability means that we make sure we meet our energy needs and ensure the health of the planet for future generations. Eventually, we will run out of nonrenewable energy supplies and the pollution caused by using these energy sources is already becoming a serious problem. The sooner we switch to using renewable energy, the cleaner the air we breathe and water we drink will be. Among these renewable energy resources the foldable wind generator is also one of the innovations but there is still a question mark on its development. portable windturbine

Eolic design has been introduced in foldable wind generator class but it is uncertain as to whether it’s capable or not. The Eolic looks great and is an incredible idea, but can it actually create enough energy to power anything and is it durable enough to actually hold its ground in a wind strong enough to create electricity? Still it’s an ambitious idea and we have to sit back and see its viability.

There are numerous types of plants and so many ways from which energy can be produced in the world. Typically there are two approaches for using biomass energy, one is growing plants for energy use and second is using plant’s residues for other things. There is no best approach for using biomass energy because of climate differences from region to region, soils, geography, population and other such things.

Energy Crops

Energy crops or power crops can be grown in farms on massive level just like food crops. Best energy crops are the trees and grasses while other less agriculturally sustainable crops like corn tend can be used also for energy purposes.

Certain Advantages Of Biodiesel Fuel

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Bio scientists have always been in search of finding and introducing fuels that can prove to be good substitute of traditional fuel items. The reason of all such efforts is quite obvious. First because the traditional fuel is not going to last forever as it is depleting rapidly. Secondly because there are so many environment issues associated to the usage of traditional fuels.

Biodiesel Fuel

Why biodiesel fuel is good

Despite of some of the disadvantages associated to the biodiesel fuel, its advantages are far greater. As bio scientists are continuously striving to make it more environment friendly, it has started showing results by reducing smoke pollution, noise pollution and by lessening the vibrations. Biodiesel is also better than gasoline when it is about keeping the engine fit and maintaining the acceleration. Biodiesel is a good fuel to be used in large means of transportation like ships.

A Close Look At Solar Powered Fountains

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

About two decades ago, the word “solar revolution” was being heard all around the world in almost all the platforms. Who could have thought that ultimately this concept will help us to ease our life and help us to do things with such efficiency that can never be achieved before. An extension of this technology and concept was applied to fountains.

Solar%20Fountains

You have had seen beautiful fountains that can be seen in parks and gardens. Fountains are also available on stores for sale. You can see little and pretty solar powered fountains available in different shops around the city. These fountains are just like ordinary fountains and adds the same to the beauty of your garden. Additional feature in these fountains is that they use solar energy for their working.

As the world “Solar Revolution” is gaining popularity, so as the products that uses the electricity that is being produced using solar energy.  Have you heard about Hot Water Solar Panels? This concept is gaining importance in almost all the parts of world, including Europe, Australia and America. It is a thermodynamic approach and is completely different from semiconductor approach which produce electricity using sunlight. solar_water_heating

Main reason for its growing popularity is the use of government aids, its enormous efficiency and its design.  A proof of its popularity is that more than 40,000 solar heating systems are deployed in United Kingdom by households. To convert cold water into hot water using solar energy, on of the most convincing argument is  its cost. After its installation, the cost to generate the electricity is very low. This system is not only used domestically to heat up water, but it can also be applied to other uses as well.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Tidal Energy

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Tidal energy is used to generate electricity through the use of tidal energy generators. By placing large underwater turbines in areas with high tidal movements, they are used to capture the kinetic motion of the ebbing and surging of ocean tides in order to generate electricity.

tidal energy

Tidal power is a great source of renewable energy, offering great potential for future power and electricity generation due to the massive size of the oceans.

Advantages of Tidal Energy

  • Apart from the initial installation cost, tidal power is free.
  • Tidal energy produces no greenhouse gases or any other kind of pollution.
  • It requires no fuel.
  • Electricity is produced reliably.

Tidal Power Energy From The Sea

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Tidal energy is a great source of clean renewable energy, but most of us don’t know about how it works? Every day, the tide moves a huge amount of water twice, and harnessing it could provide a great deal of energy, which can make up around 20% of Britain’s needs.

tidal power

The energy generated through this process is reliable and plentiful, but converting it into useful electrical power is not easy. Some time back, “tidal power” meant “tidal barrage”,but nowadays there are other options as well.

The working of a tidal barrage is similar to a hydro-electric scheme, except that the dam is much bigger. A huge dam called a “barrage”, is built across a river estuary. When the tide goes in and out, the water flows through tunnels in the dam.

New Bill Would Create 10 Million Solar Roofs In 10 Years

Bernie Sanders of Vermont introduced an exciting new bill to Congress last week. The bill defines a plan to install 10 million solar roofs and 200,000 solar water heaters over the next 10 years through tax rebates and incentives. According to the bill, the installations would equal 30 GW of clean energy or the equivalent of 30 nuclear power plants.solar roof

The act, which is being called the “10 Million Solar Roofs and 10 Million Gallons of Solar Hot Water Act” would be an addition to the success of other state incentive programs like those in California and New Jersey.

By providing tax rebates, which will make the cost of new systems almost half, the act would also ensure that the receivers of the incentives also know how to make their buildings as efficient as possible.
