President Obama recently unveiled the Florida Power and Light’s DeSoto Next Generation Solar Energy Center. Moreover, the President has also announced the creation of an updated electrical grid.

The solar facility, which will be Florida’s second-largest, will be able to power the 2,300-household town of Arcadia.
However, as noticed by Obama and other FP&L officials, the main hindrance to the increased use of solar power is an ancient electrical grid.

Although it is not obvious to many, but President Barack Obama’s push for wind and solar energy to wean the U.S. from foreign oil carries a hidden cost, which is overburdening the nation’s electrical grid and increasing the threat of blackouts.
The power users, producers and the U.S. Energy Department have given their requirement to the Obama administration but the funding Obama devoted to get high-voltage lines ready for handling the additional load of alternative supplies is less than 5 percent of the $130 billion that was asked for.
