Ethanol is being termed as the fuel of future and it is gaining popularity world wide. Though this is an environmentally safe commodity, still few issues are emerging that are considered as a hindrance to its growth. One of the biggest issues is the threat to food security while the issue of wide deforestations in USA and Brazil are also emerging.

Biomass power only removes woody forest waste material, or slash from the forest. This waste material has no other purpose. Cleaning this debris from the forest floor improves forest health and dramatically reduces the threat of forest fires. 68.8 million tons of forest waste is removed annually by the biomass power industry.
