Think is a Oslo-based car company that makes electric-cars. Last month, It rolled out its first electric car for European market from its plant in Finland. Think chief executive announced that they will be building their first car in December, 2011 at the newly constructed plant in Indiana. 
The new subcompact electric car is currently being called “Think City”. Company is planning to sell the first car in U.S. as early as October, 2010. These early models will be imported from Finland. These cars will be followed by production of U.S. produced cars in January, 2011. Mr. Richard Canny, CEO of Think has been quoted as a source of above information.
Think is likely to make an investment of around $50 million at its assembly plant in Elkhart County, Indiana. The auto manufacturer is expecting to get around $20 million in subsidy from U. S. Government in shape of tax incentives and human resource development funds.

According to recent reports, scientists are working together progressively to develop an “artificial leaf” that imitates the working of a real leaf, i.e. the chemical magic done through photosynthesis.

However, instead of food for the plant, the new leaf converts sunlight and water into a liquid fuel such as methanol for cars and trucks.
The report came from top authorities on solar energy, who met at the 1st Annual Chemical Sciences and Society Symposium. The authorities stressed on initiating international cooperation and novel thinking on the global energy challenge.

A new prototype for the worlds first 3D photovoltaic cell, has been created by researchers in US, which could lead to more efficient solar panels in the future.
The device was developed in the Georgia Institute of Technology, in the process of finding a way to get the cells to absorb light and produce energy without being in direct sunlight.
This device enables renewable energy to be produced without having the devices in awkward places and exposed to damage. This means that the devices can be moved into the walls of buildings and underneath cars.

It has been reported that the scientists in Georgia and New Jersey are busy in devising ways to take off the solar panels from the roofs of homes and cars, and moving them into basements and walls.
This will enable the homeowners to decorate their rooftops however they want, as the new panels would continuously provide solar power while protecting the delicate photovoltaic cells.
Zhong Wang, a scientist at Georgia Tech said that this might be the world’s first 3-D solar panel system.
