The use of atomic energy is an alternate source of energy has vast potential. Normally nuclear reactor runs fantastic rate of 80% efficiency. Like all other sources of energy, there are residue materials for nuclear reactors too. The disposal of residue is the core area of concern for preservationists. It emits radioactive rays for very long period and therefore proper disposal is necessary. 50% of the power requirements of 5 states of United States are met using nuclear reactors.

Nuclear accidents have usually taken place on a small scale but their consequences can be atrocious. They can occur any where the nuclear material is used. Awareness needs to be created in general public in this regard.

nuclear power accounts for 11% of the world’s needs and its main advantage is that it produces a tremendous amount of energy from small amount of fuel, and that too without the pollution that is produced by burning fossil fuel. This is the future of world energy needs and has been linked with extraordinary development in recent years.
