A Guide to Solar Power Energy

Sun is the source of the cheapest and the safer and cleaner form of power. Sunlight has most widely been utilized for a variety of purposes both on commercial and residential levels. Sun power is usable in all forms, in unprocessed form it has been helping mankind for various purposes like for laundry drying, crops rearing and for the sustainability of life. With the advances in technology, scientists started to use solar energy for various purposes by converting it into reusable energy.

Benefits of Solar Power Energy

Benefits of Solar Power Energy

Solar energy is far feasible than conventional energy. It is available at free of cost and it is renewable. Sun power energy is feasible for areas where there is a lot of full and strong sunlight, but have little electrical infrastructure. These areas can make most of sun power energy.

Downside of Solar Power Energy

The downside of solar power energy is that it is reliable only in those areas that receive full and strong sunlight. Sunlight cannot be collected and absorbed during night time. Also, a number of collectors are required in order to produce a little bit of solar energy. Despite of these setbacks, sun power energy still remains a popular source of the production of power among its counterparts.

Ways to Harness Solar Power Energy

There are various ways by which sun power energy can easily be harnessed, so it can be utilized in different things.

Some of these ways include following:

Photovoltaic (PV) or Solar Cells

Photovoltaic (PV) or solar cells convert the solar power energy directly into renewable electricity. Solar or photovoltaic cells are available to be used in various ways. They are being utilized both on large scale (commercial level) like for empowering satellites and on small scale (residential or home purpose). These photovoltaic or solar cells are categorized into four distinct generations or categories. Each of these generations has solar cells of particular material(s). It is believed that solar cells would soon overtake the market of solar technology.

Solar Water Heating Systems

Solar Water Heating Systems

Solar water heating systems are available in a wide variety. There are various ways by which solar power energy can be utilized to heat water. One of these ways utilizes solar energy that heat up solar units that are installed on the roof of the storage tanks that are filled with water. The heated water is then distributed to the places where it is utilized for everyday works. This particular method of solar heating cuts down on the amount of other sources of energy like electricity or gas that are used in a home.

Solar Heating

It is done by the usage of solar collectors. Solar collectors are of various types and they heat the cold air and distribute or circulate that heated water into a stricture or a building in order to generate heat. This process doesn’t require any type of fans or sensors to circulate the hot air. The heated air is circulated when the heated air vaporizes and new cold air enters the structure of building and that new cold air is heated through the solar collectors.
