When we talk about natural gas, most of the people think that, instead of other fuels, by using it, they are just helping out in improving the environment, as burning it is perceived to produce less amount of carbon. Though using natural gas as fuel produces far less amount of carbon, yet we cannot claim that burning it excessively is helpful for the environment in one way or the other. The only thing that we need to consider is that how do we generate power by utilizing it.
When natural gas is burnt in order to produce electricity, it of course emits harmful substance for the environment. If you can notice, large power stations use great amount of natural gas everyday to produce energy that add up harmful emissions to the environment. The process poses considerable dangers to the ozone layer which has already started deteriorating.

Natural gas is considered to be the safest fuel that does not pose much threat to the environment, the question is that even if we should avoid using it, what else should we opt for to meet our energy needs, the answer to this question lies in renewable energy resources. Instead of relying on the natural gas considering it as a safer fuel, the best thing is opt for fulfilling the energy needs by using solar energy and geothermal energy.
