On Thursday it has been announced by Lowe’s home depot that it has started selling solar panels, starting at $99, at 21 stores in California, and according to the Associated Press, it has made plans to start offering these panels nationwide next year.

Home Depot are also selling solar panels online, these includes kits geared more at contractors than do-it-yourselfers.
Lowe’s also offer Professional Installation of Solar Panels
Professional installation of Solar panels is offered by this depot through a program that began in California and later on expanded.
Such installation is not a minor matter as the approval of local utilities is often required for solar panels.
Information kiosks at Lowe’s Stores
There are information kiosks at Lowe’s stores to help shoppers evaluate their energy needs and understand the products that are suitable for them.
Types of Solar Panels available at Lowe’s Stores
Lowe’s stores are selling two types of solar panels. One is the $99 Sunforce panels that charge car and boat batteries, as well as cell phones and MP3 players.
In order to generate household electricity, there are the $893 Akeena panels, each weighing 40 pounds. These panels have modular design that allows homeowners to start by installing one panel, then adding more later on according to the requirements.
