Renewable Energy Market To Grow 25% Each Year By 2030

Posted on 30 August 2009

Survey showed that the alternative energy sector will grow 25% annually and gain about 70% of the global energy market share by 2030.

Renewable energy is currently having $150bn share of the total estimated $800bn worldwide energy market. And it will increase up to around $600bn by 2030.

What are the key issues related to this development?

How much aggressive Middle East is towards this alternative source of energy?

These are some of the main issues which would be examined during the 2009 Alter Energy Convention which will be held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center. The event will continue from October 27 to October 29.

Gulf States are already spending about $70bn in multiple energy projects during 2009. This joint investment will accommodate massive energy consumption in that region. In just UAE the average annual energy use growth rate is 10% which is more than double of the global rate (i.e. 4%).

This urged the need to make heavy investments into many sustainable energy projects like as started Masdar project. Renewable energies and green technologies are put at top of priority list. If this went as planned it will reduce the region’s dependence on oil. International experts, regional decision makers, and technology developers from green and renewable energy sector are invited there in Alter Energy. There will be a discussion and fruitful debate over the benefits and challenges world facing of this alternative energy sources.

Alter Energy Convention 2009 is going to be held under the umbrella of the 2009 Oil & Gas Show (OGS).

They will discuss and form a critical opinion about:

  • The regional and global prospect on carbon footprint and energy consumption.
  • The significance of oil and gas sector partnerships with alternative energy projects.
  • Sustainable regional water management
  • Latest sustainable projects, methods and technologies.

This year’s convention will also introduce methods to control and bring down the carbon and water footprints produced by the oil and gas industry. In addition, it will emphasize the greater capability of alternative energy sources to fulfill the requirements of a rapidly increasing world population.
