Renewable Energy and the Fossil Fuels

Posted on 13 August 2009

We know that fossil fuels means a lot to us, it is consumed in our daily lives and that its continuous use is gradually decreasing its percent from the earth. Since fossil fuels are not renewable, they, if once finished means finished and there is no chance again to create it. We have learned about it in our 8th post and that how we much fossil fuels are useful for us.

Moreover, we studied from post 11 to 16 that we have a continuous supply of energy from natural resources. The sun, wind and event the used garbage can be brought in our use in a great manner by creating electricity. These are the renewable energy sources and that there is no chance of their lacking at anytime.

Countries like United States consume natural power resources daily this way that the entire nation gets their daily work done with the regular supply of it. so much of wind energy and solar energy is used to create electricity that it is regularly supplied to homes and offices. Thus the energy consumption from the clean sources has no or little impact on the environment.

Where as the vehicles that move on fossil fuels burnings for example gasoline leaves a lot of smoke directly effecting the air and damaging oxygen. the 81% green houses of US are carbon emission spots from energy-related resources. It is a point to focus that renewable energy fields can provide more opportunities to new employees and there will be greater chance to avoid expense in using oils and fuels. America spends a lot of money in the import of oil, if the renewable energy fields are made strong and there would be plants settled for being self sufficient, the country people can save their money and secure the economy.fossilfuels

The best part is that the cost of renewable energy is far low than that of fuel consumption. It is getting more affordable to use renewable energy as the cost of wind energy has dropped from 45$ to less than 5$. This the decrement in prices in last 25 years. There is also a price drop ratio in solar energy cost and ethanol fuel as well.

As far as the renewable energy gives us profit, there are a few drawbacks as well that are measured here briefly. When it comes to use solar power energy, the field requires large land area for its production, thus it directly needs to have a clear land, and no living creatures. The chemicals that are used are highly toxic and can affect the environment. Even for the wind energy resource it needs large land area so as to arrange the pipes and the mirrors to get the estimated production of electricity.

For the wind energy source, though the living creatures can live in the same field where wind turbines are located, but it is the major cause of birds death and the wiring in the nearby locations are also dangerous for birds. Where as the power source water is concerned, the making of dams also affect the living beings in near places, dams making needs places that require to cut forests and villages thus makes the nearby population to place themselves some where else.

We observe that the natural resources of energy, even if not pollute or spend precious fossil fuels have still impact on environment. Though renewable energy has negative impact on the outdoor scenery and natural habitat but it is still helpful in saving country’s economy.
