Harry Atwater, while standing in the lab of Caltech, shows a plastic panel with thickness less than one millimeter. The room was illuminated but the surface of panel still appears to be jet black. It absorbs all the light striking on its surface.
This high-tech material absorbs light 10 times efficiently as compared to the in-use silicon cells which are installed on the roofs of houses to gather sun energy.

Everpower investment is wholly financed with equity from Terra Firma’s buy-out and with no debt. This new trend of being financed from equity groups shows how private equity groups are becoming best option for smaller, more innovative deals when there is a lack of financing from banks.

Desertec would be the world’s most challenging solar power project. It will approximately take up $573 billion to start. Fields of mirrors in Sahara would collect solar energy to be used for boiling water. That would turn turbines to electrify a carbon-free network established between Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.

Michael Fraser, who is an AGL Energy chief executive, says recently passed bill of renewable energy target (RET) is having very significance for AGL. AGL is the largest developer of renewable assets in Australia. This new passage will trigger their development programs.
Mr. Fraser told that approximately $25 billion to $30 billion of renewable projects would require to be completed during the next decade. This is how we can meet RET target.
“We intend to develop a pipeline of our projects so when we look over the next decade that’s probably six to seven billion dollars worth of projects on our own,”
